We're pairing that intelligence with next-generation hardware to create a universal interface between humans and machines. While today's AI largely operates through chat boxes and decade-old devices, Hark is focused on what comes next: agentic systems that interact naturally with people and the real world.
To get there, we're developing multimodal models and next-generation AI hardware together - designed from the ground up as a single, unified interface for a new era of intelligent systems.

About this role
Hark is building multimodal AI systems paired with next-generation hardware, and this role sits at the intersection of that ambition and execution. As an Embedded DevOps Engineer, you'd own the CI/CD pipelines, build infrastructure, and deployment systems that get Hark's device software from development to production. You'll work across Firmware, Device Software, QA, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to architect scalable infrastructure, manage OTA rollouts and fleet deployments, and maintain the tooling that keeps the entire embedded software delivery process running smoothly.
The role demands someone with at least five years of hands-on DevOps experience specifically in embedded systems or consumer electronics. You'll need strong fundamentals in shell scripting and Python, deep familiarity with modern CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, and solid knowledge of embedded build systems spanning bare metal, RTOSes, and Linux/Android platforms. Experience with OTA systems—particularly A/B image management, compression, and delta updates—is essential. Linux system administration, GitLab CI expertise, AOSP build systems, and secure build pipeline practices are valuable additions.
This is an in-office position in San Jose with a salary range of $150,000 to $300,000, depending on your background and experience level. It's a full-time role suited to someone who enjoys the technical depth of embedded systems but wants to scale infrastructure and automation across an entire hardware product line.
