About this role
DLR Group, a 100% employee-owned integrated design firm, is seeking an intermediate civil engineer to join its Omaha office and contribute to site development across mixed-use, commercial, educational, sports, hospitality, and municipal projects. You'll work within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to produce civil designs from concept through construction administration. The role centers on site development documentation using Civil 3D—including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and permitting—alongside independent calculations, engineering reports, and shop drawing reviews.
The position requires a PE license and at least five years of site development experience in an A/E or civil engineering firm, paired with proficiency in Civil 3D and working knowledge of related software like Hydraflow and InfraWorks. You should bring strong problem-solving skills, a solid grasp of stormwater management and hydrologic design, and the ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting schedules. An appreciation for integrated design and collaborative practice is essential; bonus qualifications include experience with sustainable site design, ArcGIS, and SketchUp.
As an employee-owner, you'll have a direct stake in the firm's success and participate in a four-day in-office model with Friday flexibility. This is a full-time, in-office role in Omaha suited to a strategic, detail-oriented designer ready to grow with a firm committed to environmental stewardship and elevating human experience through design.
