About this role

DLR Group, a 100% employee-owned integrated design firm, is hiring a Civil Engineer for its Omaha office to join multidisciplinary project teams designing site development for mixed-use, commercial, educational, sports, hospitality, and municipal buildings. You'll use Civil 3D to produce site layouts, grading and drainage plans, stormwater management designs, and permitting documents while collaborating directly with architects, engineers, and clients throughout the design process. The role involves independent civil calculations, code research, specification writing, and occasional site visits.

This position suits someone with zero to six years of site development experience from an A/E or civil engineering firm who understands collaborative design and wants to deepen expertise in stormwater management and hydrologic design. You'll need proficiency in Civil 3D and working knowledge of related software like Hydraflow and Storm and Sanitary Sewer Analysis. An EIT or passed FE exam is preferred, as is familiarity with sustainable site design, ArcGIS, or SketchUp.

As an Emerging Professional at DLR Group, you'll participate in a structured program combining mentorship, weekly classes, and hands-on work covering design culture, sustainability, technology, construction, and career development—with exposure to firm leadership and integrated designers. The office operates on a four-day in-office model with Friday flexibility, and your employee ownership stake means you'll have a direct financial interest in the firm's growth.
