About this role

Cordell & Cordell, the nation's largest family law litigation firm, is recruiting second-year law students for a paid summer associate position in their Atlanta office. This internship is structured to give you genuine courtroom and client exposure rather than routine administrative work—you'll draft legal documents, conduct research, attend proceedings with experienced attorneys, and participate in case strategy meetings alongside a Litigation Partner. The program is explicitly designed as a pipeline: many summer associates transition into part-time law clerk roles during their third year and full-time positions after graduation.

To be competitive, you'll need a 3.0 law school GPA, demonstrated commitment to family law as a practice area, and the ability to work in-office in Atlanta for the summer. The position pays $35 per hour and does not include the firm's full benefits package, though you'll have access to networking events and professional development through Cordell College. Keep in mind that while this role offers a clear pathway into the firm, the job posting notes that your long-term office location upon full-time hire may differ from your summer assignment, so flexibility on eventual placement is expected.
