About this role
Luster National is looking for a seasoned document control leader to anchor a major rail capital program in Sacramento. You'd serve as the technical expert and mentor for the enterprise document control system, responsible for keeping design, construction, and environmental record sets audit-ready across a complex, multi-billion-dollar infrastructure initiative. The role blends hands-on work—reviewing submittals, managing intake and archival, administering the platform—with strategic responsibilities like system optimization, process improvement, and cross-functional coordination with project teams, IT, and compliance staff.
This position demands at least eight years managing document control on large heavy-civil projects ($500M+), with proven experience leading a capital program and developing operational standards. You'll need strong technical fluency with enterprise document management platforms, solid knowledge of records retention and audit requirements, and the composure to maintain documentation standards under schedule pressure. The hybrid arrangement (3–4 days on-site) offers flexibility while keeping you connected to the program.
The role suits someone who combines meticulous attention to detail with a collaborative, improvement-minded approach—someone who can mentor junior controllers, troubleshoot system issues, and help drive adoption of new tools and workflows across the organization. The salary range is $80k–$130k annually, with standard benefits including unlimited flexible time off, health coverage, and parental leave.
