Description
About us:
Working at Tech Holding isn't just a job, it's an opportunity to be a part of something bigger. We are a full-service consulting firm that was founded on the premise of delivering predictable outcomes and high-quality solutions to our clients. Our founders and team members have industry experience and have held senior positions in a wide variety of companies – from emerging startups to large Fortune 50 firms – and we have taken our combined experiences and developed a unique approach that is supported by the principles of deep expertise, integrity, transparency, and dependability.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager for a project-based assignment to drive the successful delivery of complex technology projects through rigorous governance and structured execution. The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of hands-on project management experience, focused on formal project management methodologies, cross-functional leadership, and establishing clear accountability. You will establish and maintain the delivery framework for projects, ensuring alignment, transparency, and excellence at every stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the project from start to finish. Define scope, success metrics, and the plan with the client. Stay with it through delivery, launch, handoff, and lessons learned.
- Understand why the client is building it. Learn their business well enough to challenge the request, suggest a simpler way to get the same outcome, and explain trade-offs in terms of business impact.
- Build trust on both sides. Become the person the client’s sponsor relies on, and earn credibility with engineers who don’t report to you.
- Get ahead of problems. Spot risks early, bring options and a recommendation, and make sure decisions get made and written down.
- Do what the project needs. Write requirements, run user acceptance testing (UAT), clean up a data issue, sit in on a support call. If the project needs it and you can do it, you do it.
- Run governance that’s worth attending. Steering committees and status reports that are short, honest, and end in decisions.
- Run more than one project at a time without any of them losing focus.
Required Skills:
- 4+ years managing technology projects, including at least [2] years with external clients (consulting, agency, or a client-facing delivery role)
- Owned at least two projects from kickoff to launch, including scope, plan, budget, and the sponsor relationship. You were there at the start and you were there at go-live.
- Enough technical fluency to follow an engineering discussion, push back on an estimate, and know when something is harder than it looks
- Hands-on Agile delivery experience, plus Jira and Confluence
- Experience defining and reporting on KPIs that leadership actually uses to make decisions
- Clear, direct communication with executives and engineers alike
Nice to Have:
- PMP, CSM, or similar certification
Nice to have:
- PMP, CSM or other relevant certifications
- Experience working in consulting, digital agency, or fast-moving startup environments
What this role is not:
- Running ceremonies and updating boards for a single internal team
- Status reporting without accountability for the outcome
- Handing off anything that falls outside “PM work”
Compensation
- Salary $100k-125k (DOE) + Benefits
Location:
- This is an onsite role requiring 3 days per week between Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) and Los Angeles.

About this role
Tech Holding is looking for a Technical Project Manager to own complex technology projects from inception through closure, working in a consulting environment where structured delivery and cross-functional leadership are central to the role. You'll establish governance frameworks, manage integrated plans across multiple workstreams, lead Scrum ceremonies, and keep stakeholders aligned through clear reporting and proactive risk management. This is a hands-on position that demands both technical fluency—you'll need to engage meaningfully with engineering teams and understand various tech stacks—and the ability to translate delivery status into business impact for executives.
The ideal candidate brings at least four years of project management experience in a consulting, agency, or startup setting, with demonstrated expertise in Agile and Scrum methodologies and proficiency in tools like Jira and Confluence. You'll need strong analytical skills, the ability to juggle competing priorities, and excellent communication across technical and non-technical audiences. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required; relevant certifications like PMP or CSM are a plus.
The role is based in Los Angeles with a hybrid arrangement requiring three days per week on-site in Downtown LA. The salary range is $100k–$125k depending on experience, and you must already be authorized to work in the U.S., as Tech Holding is unable to sponsor visas.
