  • Collaborate with ODD team members and other internal teams to discuss findings, resolve open questions, and support consistent, high-quality work product.
  • Communicate research findings to clients in a clear and professional manner.

About this role

Aksia's Operational Due Diligence team evaluates the operational and business risks embedded in alternative investment managers and funds on behalf of institutional investors managing hundreds of billions in capital. As an Analyst in the San Diego office, you would conduct detailed investigations into how managers operate—meeting with their finance, compliance, and operations leaders, reviewing offering documents and financial statements, and identifying red flags around fraud, conflicts of interest, control environments, and back-office capabilities. Your findings would be synthesized into written reports that directly inform client investment decisions across hedge funds, private credit, private equity, real assets, and real estate.

This role suits someone with a foundation in accounting, audit, asset management, fund administration, operations, compliance, or risk—ideally one to three years of relevant experience—who combines strong analytical thinking with clear communication skills. You'll need to ask thoughtful questions of senior professionals, spot inconsistencies in documentation, and distill complex operational matters into objective, well-supported conclusions. The work demands attention to detail, comfort managing competing priorities, and the ability to travel for diligence meetings.

The position offers structured training and hands-on experience that builds expertise across alternative asset classes over time. You'll work collaboratively with a geographically distributed ODD team and other internal groups, developing judgment and subject matter knowledge in a client-facing environment. The base salary is $70,000–$80,000, with performance bonus and comprehensive benefits included in total compensation.
