About this role

Working as an Account Manager intern at IMA Financial Group means stepping into a hands-on support role within a commercial insurance operation. You'll work directly with Account Executives to manage mid-market or emerging client accounts, handling the day-to-day coordination that keeps renewals and new business moving forward. This involves preparing renewal materials, managing carrier submissions and quotes, coordinating policy delivery, and resolving coverage or premium issues—essentially serving as the operational backbone that allows senior team members to focus on client strategy and relationships.

The role requires a P&C license and a minimum of two years of commercial lines experience, which is substantial for an internship. You'll need to be comfortable working independently within IMA's Epic system while maintaining strong organizational standards, and you should have solid skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The work demands attention to detail, the ability to communicate clearly with both clients and underwriters, and enough initiative to anticipate problems before they escalate. Up to 20% travel may be required depending on your book of business.

This is an in-office position in Birmingham, Alabama. As an intern, you won't be eligible for the full benefits package, but you'll gain direct exposure to how a growing, nationally recognized insurance firm operates and build relationships across the organization.
