About this role
Lila Sciences is building an autonomous lab platform powered by AI, and they're looking for a Senior Product Designer II / Staff Product Designer to shape how scientists and lab operators interact with their core software. In this in-office Cambridge role, you'd design end-to-end workflows that translate complex scientific and operational processes into intuitive, trustworthy experiences—working across product, engineering, science, and operations teams to solve real problems at the intersection of AI and wet lab work.
You'll need at least five years of product or interaction design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating shipped impact on complex, technical products. The ideal candidate can simplify ambiguous workflows into clear experiences, thinks systematically about information architecture and interaction patterns, and is comfortable partnering closely with domain experts. Bonus experience includes designing for scientists or biotech, working with AI-native interfaces and explainability, or contributing to design systems—though the core ask is the ability to handle sophisticated, early-stage product challenges.
The role offers a competitive salary of $180,000–$256,000 plus bonus and early-stage equity, along with comprehensive U.S. benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid parental leave, flexible time off, and subsidized lunch.
