- Become a force multiplier by mentoring and leading the team around you
- Participate in an on-call schedule to help our customers experience more live
What you have
- Passion for craftsmanship and product. You have well-considered opinions about how software and reliable infrastructure should work, and hold yourself and your code to a high standard
- Experience building business critical software in a fast-paced environment. We'll be interested in hearing about what you've built and how
- Experience solving complex technical challenges. SeatGeek engineers create custom solutions to unique ticketing problems, including high traffic onsales, interactive venue maps, inventory tracking, and event matching. We'll be excited to hear about challenging problems you've solved
- Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and serverless compute platforms
- Experience with continuous integration, delivery, testing, and code deployment
- Experience using observability tools to make performance improvements and forecast growth
- Experience improving system architecture, diagnosing shortcomings and implementing evidence-based recommendations

About this role
SeatGeek's Platform team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own the infrastructure and systems that underpin the entire company's technology ecosystem. You'd work on the backbone supporting both consumer and enterprise ticketing operations for major clients like the Dallas Cowboys and Manchester City FC, tackling the unique challenges of high-load onsales, multi-region deployments, and the reliability demands of live event ticketing at scale.
The role blends traditional software engineering with platform and infrastructure work across compute, databases, networking, and infrastructure as code. You'd build developer tooling for observability, engineer resilient networking infrastructure, mentor teammates, and participate in on-call support. The work requires solving custom problems specific to ticketing—inventory tracking, interactive venue maps, traffic spikes—rather than applying generic solutions. You'll use modern tools like Kubernetes, Postgres, Kafka, and Terraform, though the stack can be learned; what matters is your track record solving complex technical challenges in fast-paced environments and your ability to improve system architecture based on evidence.
This is a fully remote role paying $144,000–$209,000 with equity, comprehensive benefits including unlimited PTO, family leave, and a $360 quarterly live event stipend. It suits engineers who care deeply about reliability and craftsmanship, have hands-on experience with containerization and infrastructure automation, and want to grow into a leadership position while directly impacting how millions of people buy tickets to live events.
