About this role

Summit Therapeutics is seeking an experienced leader to drive Medicaid access and reimbursement strategy for its oncology pipeline. As National Account Director for Government Payers–Medicaid, you'll own relationships with state Medicaid programs—both fee-for-service and managed care—and navigate the complex landscape of prior authorization, preferred drug lists, P&T committees, and state utilization management. This is a high-stakes, customer-facing role where your decisions directly shape whether patients can access Summit's investigational therapies at launch.

The position demands deep expertise in government payer dynamics and oncology reimbursement. You'll build state-level access strategies, manage the mechanics of physician-administered drug billing and claims processing, monitor policy shifts affecting Medicaid coverage, and partner across internal teams—field reimbursement, patient services, HEOR, and medical affairs—to design the support infrastructure patients will need. Leadership of regional field teams and accountability for ethical compliance round out the scope.

This role suits someone with 10+ years in biopharmaceutical reimbursement or policy, including at least five years managing government payer or oncology accounts. You'll need strong strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and fluency in the US healthcare regulatory environment. An MBA, PharmD, or equivalent advanced degree is preferred. The position is fully remote and based at Summit's Miami headquarters.
