Description

Company Overview:

Beam Therapeutics is a biotechnology company committed to establishing the leading, fully integrated platform for precision genetic medicines. To achieve this vision, Beam has assembled a platform with integrated gene editing, delivery and internal manufacturing capabilities. Beam’s suite of gene editing technologies is anchored by base editing, a proprietary technology that is designed to enable precise, predictable and efficient single base changes, at targeted genomic sequences, without making double-stranded breaks in the DNA. This has the potential to enable a wide range of therapeutic editing strategies that Beam is using to advance a diversified portfolio of base editing programs. Beam is a values-driven organization committed to its people, cutting-edge science, and a vision of providing life-long cures to patients suffering from serious diseases.

About this role

Beam Therapeutics' Alliance Management Co-op offers a six-month opportunity to support the operational side of the company's strategic partnerships in gene editing and precision medicine. You'd work within the Business Development group on concrete projects: building tools to streamline how the company monitors and tracks its contractual obligations across alliances, developing systems for strategic analysis of alliance workflows, and helping ensure compliance across Beam's portfolio of foundational licenses and collaborations. The role blends process improvement with exposure to high-level partnership decisions.

The position suits someone currently pursuing a graduate degree (MS, MBA, or PhD) who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with both independent work and cross-functional collaboration. You should have working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and AI tools—Copilot proficiency is valued—along with strong communication skills and genuine interest in how science and drug development actually work. This is a role for someone who can learn complex concepts quickly and wants hands-on experience in how biotech companies manage the partnerships that fuel their research and development.
