As the Product Engineer – Defense Solutions, you will collaborate with customers, industry teams, and other product development team members to design, develop, and support the right geospatial solutions for defense agencies. Responsibilities
- Discover customer needs and craft geospatial solutions that cater to the defense industry
- Configure ArcGIS apps, tools, and information models for industry-specific uses
- Provide input into product design aspects to assure our products are simple to use and provide a great experience for our customers
- Work closely with customers, software development, business development, and professional services teams to define and develop solutions
- Draft and review ArcGIS Solutions product briefs, presentations, and documentation
- Design and author test cases for functionality, performance, scalability, and durability; execute both manual and automated tests, analyze test results, and report results
- Continually assess product quality, release readiness, and maintain existing ArcGIS Solutions
- Present and evangelize solutions to internal and external audiences
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience in the defense industry along with experience in applying ArcGIS to support specific industry workflows
- Demonstrated ability to document and build GIS workflows
- Creative problem solver and a team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in geography or related field
Recommended Qualifications
- Knowledge of defense and intelligence workflows
- Programming experience with scripting languages, such as Python or Arcade
- Experience with configuring web-based GIS applications
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro

Esri is seeking a Product Engineer II to bridge defense agencies' operational needs with geospatial technology solutions. The position requires at least two years in the defense industry combined with hands-on experience applying ArcGIS to real workflows. You'll need strong communication skills to document solutions and present them to both internal teams and external customers, along with a geography degree or related background. Programming experience with Python or Arcade and familiarity with ArcGIS Pro are valuable assets, as is any background configuring web-based GIS applications. This is an in-office role in Arboretum Estates, Illinois, with a base salary range of $79,664 to $133,120 and Esri's standard benefits package including health coverage, retirement programs, and substantial paid time off.
