About this role

StepStone Group's Accounting Manager role centers on managing the financial close and reporting operations for the company's subsidiary entities, with direct oversight of accounting staff. You'd handle monthly financial statement preparation, reconciliations, cash management, and accounts payable and receivable processes across multiple entities. The position also involves ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements, coordinating with external auditors, and managing intercompany transactions across the U.S. and international subsidiaries.

This role suits someone with at least five years of accounting experience who is ready to step into a supervisory capacity. A CPA and prior Big 4 or large regional firm background are preferred. You'll need strong technical skills—particularly in Excel and GAAP accounting—and ideally some exposure to investment partnership accounting, international entities, or NetSuite. The ability to identify process improvements and work collaboratively across teams is essential, as you'll partner regularly with the U.S. accounting team and external service providers.

Based in La Jolla and hybrid, the position offers a salary of $115,000 to $120,000. This is a full-time role within a global private markets firm, suited for someone looking to deepen their accounting leadership experience while working with complex subsidiary and investment structures.
