About this role
DLR Group's Omaha office is seeking an entry-level architectural designer to join its Workplace practice, which handles core and shell architecture, tenant improvements, interior design, and building performance optimization across the US. This is a temporary, in-office position designed to launch your architecture career under the guidance of experienced professionals. You'll contribute to real project work—from layout and code studies to BIM coordination and quality control—while learning industry standards and building technical skills in a collaborative environment.
The role requires an undergraduate degree in architecture and up to three years of professional experience, with proficiency in Revit as a baseline. You'll be expected to propose creative solutions to design challenges, conduct design analyses, prepare construction documents, and communicate ideas clearly across the team. LEED AP certification and familiarity with Bluebeam are valued but not required. Strong technical fundamentals in materials, methods, and sustainable design principles matter more than advanced licensure at this stage.
This position suits someone ready to apply classroom knowledge to real projects while contributing meaningfully to timelines and deliverables. DLR Group is 100% employee-owned, meaning you'd have genuine stake in the firm's success. Note that you must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship, and a current portfolio in PDF format is required to be considered. The office operates on a four-day in-office model with Friday flexibility.
