About this role

Hannis T. Bourgeois is looking for a Tax Senior to join their team in New Orleans on a hybrid basis. You'd work under the direction of senior staff while handling a range of tax work—preparing personal, corporate, partnership, and S-Corp returns; responding to tax notices; conducting tax research; and supporting tax planning and projections. The role expects you to develop technical competency, meet client deadlines, and gradually build the client relationships that define the position. You'll need a bachelor's degree in accounting and two to four years of related experience; an active CPA license is preferred, though the firm welcomes candidates pursuing certification.

This role suits someone ready to move beyond entry-level work but still learning the nuances of tax practice. HTB emphasizes mentorship and clear progression, so you'd have structured support as you take on more complex assignments and develop client-facing skills. The firm offers paid or banked overtime, comprehensive benefits including medical and dental coverage, a 401(k) plan, flexible scheduling, and early summer Fridays. They also run internal development programs and employee communities like their Young Professionals Organization, which suggests a deliberate investment in retention and culture.
