About this role

Hannis T. Bourgeois is seeking a Tax Supervisor to join their New Orleans office on a hybrid basis. This is a volunteer position that combines hands-on tax preparation and review work with supervisory and client-facing responsibilities. You'll prepare and review complex returns across multiple entity types—individuals, corporations, partnerships, nonprofits, and fiduciary accounts—while also mentoring staff and interns, conducting training sessions, and serving as a technical resource for tax questions across the firm.

The role calls for someone with four to six years of tax experience and a bachelor's degree in accounting; an active CPA license is preferred, though candidates pursuing certification are welcome. Beyond technical competency, you'll be expected to build client relationships, identify industry niches to develop expertise in, meet business development goals through prospect meetings and referrals, and contribute to the firm's professional community through involvement in state and local organizations. HTB emphasizes mentorship and growth, offering structured career development through their Pathways program, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative culture supported by employee networks like their Young Professionals Organization.
