About this role

At SonicWall, this Senior Solutions Engineer role bridges technical depth and sales momentum in the cybersecurity space. You'd spend roughly 70% of your time in the field—working remotely or from a regional office in Ohio—with up to 30% travel, partnering with sales teams and channel partners (VARs, MSPs, MSSPs) to design and position security solutions. The work centers on translating complex customer and business challenges into technical recommendations, delivering product demos and proof-of-concepts, and building relationships that drive revenue growth.

The role demands someone who can operate independently as a trusted technical advisor, moving fluidly between whiteboarding sessions with engineers and presenting to executives. You'll need a strong foundation in cybersecurity technologies—firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, zero trust, SASE, cloud platforms—plus the communication skills to explain these concepts clearly to mixed audiences. A CISSP is required; experience in pre-sales, technical support, or solution engineering at a cybersecurity vendor or systems integrator is essential.

This suits professionals who thrive on customer engagement and technical problem-solving in equal measure, with at least six years of relevant experience (or equivalent education combination). If you're comfortable with travel, enjoy the variety of field-based work, and want to leverage deep security knowledge to influence deals and customer outcomes, this is worth exploring.
