About this role

At Astranis, you'd be hands-on with the machines that assemble circuit boards for satellites and ground equipment destined for orbit. The work centers on programming and optimizing SMT equipment—paste printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and selective soldering systems—while developing the profiles and inspection programs needed to meet aerospace-grade standards. You'd troubleshoot production issues quickly to keep timelines on track and collaborate with engineering teams on process improvements, all in a full-time, on-site role in San Francisco.

This position requires at least two years of hands-on technician experience in aerospace, automotive, or a related field, plus the ability to read technical drawings and work instructions. You'll need strong attention to detail and must be comfortable working five days a week in the facility. IPC-A-610 certification and prior experience with Class 3 assemblies and space-rated standards are valued; experience with x-ray inspection and wash processes is a bonus.

The role suits someone with solid technical fundamentals who thrives in a manufacturing environment and wants to contribute to hardware that's already in orbit. Astranis offers base pay of $36–$52 per hour plus equity, comprehensive benefits, and on-site meals. U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required due to export regulations governing space technology.
