About this role
Syska Hennessy Group is seeking an Electrical Engineering graduate to join their Richmond office as an entry-level engineer embedded within their Engineering Development Program (EDT). You'll work on real projects across MEP systems, architectural lighting, and vertical transportation—supporting design, CAD/BIM drafting, and coordination with other trades under the guidance of senior engineers. The role balances structured learning with hands-on responsibility: you'll create basic designs, attend site visits, and take ownership of your work's accuracy and timeliness while participating in the firm's formal mentorship curriculum.
This position suits recent graduates (graduating Winter 2026 or later) who are comfortable learning on the job and want direct exposure to how engineering firms operate. You'll need proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, with REVIT and FE/EIT credentials as advantages. Prior internship experience is valued but not required. The firm emphasizes collaboration and professional growth, offering structured training seminars alongside real project work.
Compensation ranges from $65,168 to $92,751, with benefits including comprehensive health coverage, 401(k) matching, professional development support, and half-day work-from-home Fridays. The role is in-office in Richmond and classified as an internship, though it functions as a structured entry point into the firm's full-time engineering pipeline.
