About this role

Syska Hennessy Group is hiring a Plumbing Engineer I in San Francisco as an entry-level position within their Engineering Development Program (EDT), a structured mentorship initiative designed to accelerate the growth of recent mechanical engineering graduates into technical experts. You'll work on MEP design and documentation across diverse project types—from new installations to retrofits and upgrades—using CAD and BIM tools under the guidance of senior engineers. The role balances hands-on learning with real responsibility: you'll create designs, coordinate across trades, support field investigations, and own the accuracy and timeliness of your work.

This is ideal if you're a recent or soon-to-graduate mechanical engineer (target graduation Winter 2026 through Summer 2027) who thrives in collaborative environments and wants structured professional development. You should be comfortable with AutoCAD and preferably REVIT, proficient in MS Office and design software, and willing to learn company standards and processes. Prior internship experience and an EIT or FE certification are valued but not required. The in-office San Francisco location means you'll be embedded in the team's dynamic culture, with the exception of half-day work-from-home Fridays.

Syska offers competitive benefits including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with employer match, professional development courses, paid time off, and transit/parking support. The salary range is $58,950–$97,733, with actual compensation based on your experience and skills.
