Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist the pediatric dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Perform coronal polishing and apply fluoride treatments.
- Place dental sealants as directed.
- Educate patients and parents on proper oral hygiene practice.
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with charting.
- Ensure a clean and organized clinical environment
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Requirements
- Valid South Dakota Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine love for working with children.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

About this role
Children's Dental Center in Sioux Falls is looking for a registered dental assistant to support pediatric dentists in a practice built around making dental care welcoming for children. You'll handle the full range of clinical duties—assisting during procedures, sterilizing instruments, taking X-rays, performing coronal polishing and fluoride applications, and placing sealants—while also educating young patients and their parents on oral hygiene and maintaining accurate records. The role requires you to keep the clinical space organized and work efficiently in a busy environment.
You'll need a valid South Dakota RDA license and current BLS certification to qualify. While pediatric experience is preferred, it's not required; what matters more is genuine comfort working with children and strong interpersonal skills. The position is full-time and in-office.
