Description
Squarespace is looking for a Manager, Financial Systems to lead cross-functional delivery, partner with Finance leadership, and independently drive solutions across multiple critical Finance processes. Our Financial Systems team runs and evolves Finance so the function operates with less manual effort, stronger controls, and better data, enabling Finance to scale with the company. We are a small, hands-on, high-trust team where everyone owns platforms end to end and is the go-to for their systems across Finance. You will work closely with Accounting, AP, Tax, Procurement, Internal Controls, FP&A, Engineering, and IT. This is an opportunity to own the entire Finance systems stack — NetSuite, Coupa, NSPB, and more — with decisions that land across Controllership, AP, Tax, and FP&A rather than inside a single process.
This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Director, Financial Systems.
You'll Get To...
- Lead and develop a team of 3–4 direct reports, setting priorities, managing workloads, and providing regular feedback that drives growth and performance
- Own the systems roadmap across our financial applications ecosystem, scoping initiatives and sequencing investments against Finance goals and the broader company plan
- Drive implementations, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance across platforms — including SOX compliance, data integrity audits, and quality controls
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Tax, AP, Procurement, Controls, Data Analytics, and IT to translate financial process needs into durable technology solutions
- Manage priorities, trade-offs, and risks across a multi-project environment while maintaining a transparent intake and prioritization process
Who We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in financial systems, including 3+ years leading a team or function, with a track record of delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Hands-on experience administering financial systems — managing configurations, integrations, and platform health across a multi-tool environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage service delivery across competing priorities, keeping partners informed and execution on track without heavy process overhead
- Experience leading people through ambiguity: setting direction, delegating clearly, and building a team that brings solutions rather than problems
- Proven ability to drive alignment across Finance, Engineering, and IT partners on system decisions with meaningful downstream impact
Nice to Haves
- Experience designing or automating financial workflows to reduce manual effort
- Background managing external vendors or implementation consultants
Benefits & Perks
- A choice between medical plans with an option for 100% covered premiums
- Fertility and adoption benefits
- Access to supplemental insurance plans for additional coverage
- Headspace mindfulness app subscription
- Global Employee Assistance Program
- Retirement benefits with employer match
- Flexible paid time off
- 12 weeks paid parental leave and family care leave
- Pretax commuter benefit
- Education reimbursement
- Employee donation match to community organizations
- 7 Global Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
- Dog-friendly workplace
- Free lunch and snacks
- Private rooftop
- Hack week twice per year
Cash Compensation Range: $148,500 - $239,200 USD

About this role
Leading Squarespace's financial systems function means owning the entire technology stack that keeps Finance running—NetSuite, Coupa, NSPB, and more—while managing a small team of 3–4 people who each own their platforms end to end. You'll drive the roadmap for financial applications, scope and sequence investments against Finance goals, and handle implementations, enhancements, and maintenance across systems. The work spans multiple critical processes: you'll partner with Accounting, FP&A, Tax, AP, Procurement, Controls, and IT to translate their needs into durable solutions, all while managing competing priorities and maintaining transparency on what gets done and when.
This role suits someone with 8+ years in financial systems who has spent at least 3 years leading people or a function and has hands-on experience administering multi-tool environments. You need to be comfortable managing service delivery across ambiguity—setting direction clearly, delegating well, and building a team that brings solutions. Experience designing workflows to reduce manual effort or managing external vendors is a plus. You'll report to the Director of Financial Systems at Squarespace's NYC headquarters, working hybrid three days per week.
The salary range is $148,500–$239,200, with stock options available. Benefits include flexible PTO, 12 weeks paid parental leave, education reimbursement, comprehensive health and retirement coverage, and perks like free lunch, a dog-friendly office, and twice-yearly hack weeks.
