About this role
Sploot Veterinary Care is looking for a veterinarian to lead their Denver clinic as Medical Director, balancing hands-on clinical work with team leadership across a 3–4 day workweek. You'll set clinical standards, mentor veterinarians and nurses, and help shape the culture of a practice that's redesigning how primary and urgent care work together. The role calls for someone with at least five years of clinical experience and proven leadership or mentorship background—someone who's comfortable making decisions, building strong teams, and thinking strategically about how veterinary medicine can evolve.
The position offers genuine autonomy to influence protocols, quality assurance, and how the clinic grows within the Sploot network. You'll work alongside a highly skilled nursing team (with a 3:1 nurse-to-DVM ratio) and benefit from strong pre-visit triage that lets you focus on medicine rather than administrative friction. The schedule is structured—no overnights, no weekend rotations—and the compensation package includes a $150,000–$180,000 base salary, production incentives, sign-on and relocation support, full medical coverage, generous CE funding, and substantial paid leave including up to 12 weeks parental leave.
This role suits a collaborative, forward-thinking clinician who's energized by building something meaningful and wants to practice high-standard medicine without sacrificing work-life balance. Experience with surgery and dentistry is a bonus.
