About this role
Cabrillo Hospice is looking for an Account Executive to build and maintain relationships with healthcare referral partners across San Diego County—hospitals, physicians, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living communities. Rather than chasing sales targets, you'd focus on ensuring smooth patient transitions into hospice care, coordinating with discharge planners and case managers, and educating referral sources about eligibility and services. The role requires you to be the reliable point of contact for partners, identify ways to improve workflows and satisfaction, and represent the organization at community healthcare events.
You should have at least two years of experience working with healthcare providers or in hospice and home health account management, with a solid grasp of hospice philosophy and interdisciplinary care. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to juggle multiple accounts and work both independently and as part of a clinical team. You'll need a valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the county for in-office work in San Diego.
The position offers a salary range of $85,000 to $120,000 and appeals to someone drawn to mission-driven healthcare work who values collaboration over pure sales metrics. Cabrillo Hospice emphasizes professional growth through involvement in interdisciplinary meetings and a culture centered on integrity and compassion.
