Clickstop is looking for top talent to join our Engagement Team as a Human Resource Generalist!

This HR Generalist will have a particular focus on payroll, benefits administration, leave management, compliance, employee records, and HR systems. You’ll help ensure the processes employees depend on are executed accurately and on time, while serving as a knowledgeable resource for employees and managers.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys detail-oriented work but also wants to understand the bigger picture—how HR processes connect, where problems originate, and how systems can continually be improved.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll help ensure payroll is accurate, timely, and dependable.
    • Execute accurate and timely payroll processing by reviewing employee and payroll information, coordinating changes, troubleshooting discrepancies, and partnering with employees, managers, and internal teams to resolve questions and prevent downstream issues.
  • You’ll support employees throughout their benefits experience.
    • Support benefits administration by coordinating enrollments, employee changes, qualifying life events, and open enrollment, while helping employees understand their benefits and partnering with providers and internal teams to resolve questions or issues.
  • You’ll help administer employee leave and other HR programs.
    • Coordinate employee leave processes by maintaining required documentation, guiding employees and managers through applicable policies and next steps, and ensuring related changes to payroll, benefits, employment status, and HR systems are accurately communicated and processed.
  • You’ll help maintain strong HR compliance practices.
    • Maintain HR compliance through accurate employee records, required documentation, employment eligibility processes, policy administration, reporting, and audits, while staying current on changing requirements and translating policies and regulations into consistent, practical HR processes.
  • You’ll be a trusted resource for employees and managers.
    • Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers, answering day-to-day questions related to pay, benefits, leave, policies, HR systems, and other employee matters while using sound judgment to resolve issues independently or escalate when additional guidance is needed.
  • You’ll help us continuously improve how HR operates as a system.
    • Identify recurring errors, inefficiencies, unnecessary complexity, and weak handoffs, looking beyond the immediate task to understand root causes and improve processes, documentation, and systems to prevent future issues.

What does it take to succeed in this role?

    • Understand how HR processes connect. 
    • Recognize how errors or missed steps can affect employees, managers, systems, and downstream processes. 
    • Identify gaps in workflows and handoffs between HR, managers, and systems.

    • Apply HR policies and procedures accurately in day-to-day situations.

    • Identify recurring problems, inefficiencies, and friction within HR processes. 
    • Investigate root causes instead of repeatedly solving the same symptom. 
    • Recommend and implement practical process improvements. 
    • Learn from mistakes and adjust workflows accordingly. 
    • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of HR systems and processes.
  1. Communication & Service Orientation
    • Communicate clearly and professionally with employees, managers, candidates, and teammates. 
    • Respond promptly and thoughtfully to HR-related questions and requests. 
    • Explain policies, requirements, and HR processes in simple and understandable terms. 
    • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information. 
    • Collaborate effectively across teams and functions. 

What skills do we value in this role? 

  • Experience supporting payroll administration and processing, including reviewing payroll information, troubleshooting discrepancies, and maintaining accurate employee data.
  • Experience with employee benefits administration, including enrollments, employee changes, open enrollment, and employee questions.
  • Working knowledge of HR compliance and employment practices, with the ability and willingness to stay current on changing requirements.
  • Experience supporting leave administration, employee records, HRIS processes, onboarding/offboarding, or other HR operations.
  • Strong organization and follow-through with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and multiple priorities without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Comfort working with HRIS, payroll, benefits, and other technology systems and learning new systems quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
  • A service mindset and genuine interest in helping employees and managers successfully navigate HR processes successfully.
  • Curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset—you notice when something could work better and are willing to help fix it.

This role is Hybrid with weekly onsite requirements of 4 days per week in Urbana, IA.
For remote work, internet speeds of 20 mbps are required. To be considered for a remote role at Clickstop, residence must be located within 60 miles of our Urbana Headquarters.  

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
