About this role

Lumos & Associates is looking for a Senior Engineer to lead the technical side of their water and wastewater practice in the Sacramento region. You'd take responsible charge of complex infrastructure projects—everything from treatment facilities and distribution systems to pump stations and master planning—while overseeing design teams, managing budgets and schedules, and mentoring junior staff. The role blends hands-on engineering work with leadership and client engagement, requiring you to work independently much of the time while coordinating with project managers and conducting field oversight.

To succeed here, you'll need at least six years of progressive water/wastewater design experience, a California P.E. license (or the ability to obtain one quickly), and strong proficiency in Civil 3D. You should be comfortable serving in responsible charge, presenting technical work publicly, and managing multiple concurrent projects. The position also values business acumen—helping maintain budgets and develop client relationships—and a collaborative mindset aligned with the firm's core values around ownership, quality, and professional growth.

The role is full-time and based in the Roseville office, with a salary range of $130,000 to $165,000. Benefits include health and dental coverage, a matched 401(k), paid time off, and a stated commitment to work-life balance and professional development.
