Description

Content Marketing Manager

Job Location: London, England (Hybrid)

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship at this time.

About the Role:

CreativeX is building the system of creative control for an AI-first marketing world. As AI rewrites how content is made, evaluated, and distributed, marketers need a foundation they can trust and a way to bring consistency, intelligence, and governance to creative at scale. That's what we're building.

For over a decade, we've powered smarter creative decisions for the world's biggest brands, shipped category-defining products, and proven that creative is the single biggest driver of marketing performance (when most folks didn't quite believe us). The industry has come around. But there's a gap: our product is exceptional, and our point of view on where marketing is going is genuinely differentiated — and almost none of it is written down well enough for the people who need to read it.

Our readers are CMOs and their leadership teams at the world's largest advertisers. They sit through a lot of vendor content and remember almost none of it. What they do read is written by people who understand the pressure they're under: the board asking what AI does to production costs, the agency roster under review, the brand consistency problem nobody can measure.

That's the bar. We want work that a marketing leader forwards to their team because it named something they've been circling for months. Not the piece that ranks, or the piece that gates well. The piece that changes the conversation in the room.

This is an editorial role at heart. You'll set the standard for how CreativeX writes, and you'll be the person who makes our thinking legible to the most senior buyers in our market.

What You’ll Do

Write the flagship work. Original point-of-view pieces, industry reports, and long-form essays aimed squarely at CMOs and brand marketing leaders. Fewer, better, more opinionated. You'll be measured on whether senior buyers engage with and share it, not on publishing volume.

Build a real editorial POV. You'll develop a small number of defensible arguments — on AI and creative production, creative effectiveness, brand governance at scale, in-housing, the economics of creative — and pursue them across formats and over time until CreativeX is the name attached to them.

Turn proprietary data into arguments. We sit on creative data most of the industry can't see. You'll work with our data and product teams to shape it into original research and benchmarks that give our thought leadership evidence behind the opinion. This is the moat — a POV backed by numbers no competitor can publish.

Set the editorial bar for the whole team. Positioning comes from Product Marketing; the words come from you. You'll be the final quality gate on anything that carries our voice to a senior audience — reports, keynote narratives, executive bylines, the highest-stakes campaign copy.

Design content as a system, not a service desk. Content is a shared capability for Product Marketing, Demand Gen, Field, and Customer Marketing. You'll own the intake and prioritisation model that makes those requests tractable — clear briefs, a published queue, honest trade-offs — and you'll direct freelance, agency, and in-house support to deliver the routine production so your own writing time is protected for the work only you can do.

What You Bring

  • 7–10 years writing for business audiences, with a portfolio of published long-form work you can point to and defend. We will read it closely.
  • Demonstrated ability to write for C-level readers — CMOs, marketing leaders, or an equivalently senior audience in another category. Not "wrote for enterprise" in the abstract; specific pieces aimed at specific senior audiences.
  • Genuine command of the craft: structure, argument, economy. You can take a messy internal opinion and turn it into a clear thesis with something at stake.
  • Experience turning data or research into narrative — reports, benchmarks, indices, or original studies.
  • Interviewing skill. You can hold your own with a senior executive and get past their talking points.
  • Fluency in the world our buyers live in — brands, agencies, media, creative production, martech — or a track record of getting fluent in a complex category fast.
  • Judgment about what not to publish. You'll say no to the piece that would hit its numbers and cost us credibility.
  • Experience directing other writers, freelancers, or agencies, and comfort with the idea that your leverage comes as much from editing as from writing.

Nice to Haves

  • Background in journalism, publishing, analyst research, or editorial strategy at a consultancy or agency
  • Have built a company's thought leadership function from a standing start rather than inheriting an established one
  • Experience with a long, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycle and a realistic view of what content can and cannot do inside one
  • Experience with owned media formats — a podcast, a newsletter with a real subscriber base, an annual industry report
  • Familiarity with creative technology, adtech, martech, or marketing analytics
