About this role
Electric Hydrogen is building electrolytic hydrogen systems to decarbonize industry, and this role offers hands-on involvement across the entire power electronics development pipeline. You would move from topology analysis and simulation through schematic and PCB layout, magnetics design, and lab validation—working directly with electrical, firmware, controls, and systems teams to optimize converters for the company's products. The work spans both theoretical design and practical troubleshooting, so you'll need comfort moving between modeling tools like PLECS or Simulink and hands-on hardware debugging.
The position calls for a BS or MS in electrical or computer engineering, with either three-plus years of industry experience or strong academic and internship background in power electronics. You should have working knowledge of converters (rectifiers and inverters), magnetics analysis, schematic capture and PCB layout tools (OrCAD preferred), and laboratory testing fundamentals. Familiarity with power electronics control, digital design, microcontrollers, or FEA tools like Ansys Maxwell would strengthen your candidacy but isn't required.
Based in San Jose with hybrid flexibility, the role offers a salary range of $154,000–$181,000 plus equity, a 4% 401(k) match, comprehensive health coverage, $75 monthly cell phone allowance, and discretionary bonus eligibility. This is a solid opportunity if you want to build depth in converter design and validation within a venture-backed company focused on clean energy infrastructure.
