About this role
Astranis is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to own procurement strategy for the company's most complex flight hardware—payload, antenna, and guidance/navigation/control systems destined for satellites already serving government and enterprise customers globally. This is a contract role based in San Francisco requiring in-office presence, with significant responsibility across the full procurement lifecycle: vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, purchase order management, and post-launch support. You'll manage high-value electro-mechanical sourcing while building long-term strategic partnerships with suppliers, and you'll work closely with design, engineering, finance, and program management teams to balance cost, lead time, and operational performance.
The role demands at least three years of professional experience in software procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management, plus a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or a related field. You should have a proven track record negotiating high-value hardware contracts, strong executive presence, and the organizational discipline to juggle multiple vendor relationships and contracts simultaneously. Aerospace or new technology background is a bonus, as is experience with new production introduction or technical program management. Domestic and international travel of 15–20% is expected.
Compensation ranges from $110,000 to $165,000 base salary, plus equity, company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance, 401(k) matching, flexible PTO, and on-site meals. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required due to export control regulations governing space technology.
