Description

ABOUT XCEPTOR

Data is at the heart of everything we do: Xceptor has been designed around data manipulation in its broadest sense. We source data from wherever it flows. We curate, normalise, validate, repair, and enrich that data so it reaches its destination in a reliable and consistent format. Data coming out of Xceptor is data our clients can trust.

We are recognised as an expert in the Financial Services vertical, which strongly aligns with Business Users in Middle and Back-Office teams. We enable these users to solve their data challenges by themselves, rather than through a technology-led project.

Our mission -Ā we empower business users within financial institutions to build automated processes that deliver trusted data.

Our values sit at the heart of our business, driving who we are and how we work. At Xceptor, we are:

  • Client Centric; we prioritise our Clients’ experience and needs.
  • One Team; weĀ actively support one another to achieve our goals.
  • Impactful; we focus, we innovate, we make every minute matter.

About this role

Xceptor is looking for a Technical Product Manager to own the workflow and rules platform capabilities that power process automation across the organisation. You'll report to the Senior Director of Platform and work at the intersection of product strategy, engineering delivery, and cross-functional stakeholder needs—translating business and regulatory requirements into scalable automation and decisioning tools that teams across the company depend on. This is a hands-on role that demands both strategic thinking and comfort diving into technical detail.

Your day-to-day will involve managing the backlog and roadmap for workflow orchestration and business rules, collaborating with engineering through the full development cycle, and working closely with Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Customer teams to identify automation opportunities and reduce manual effort. You'll design user research to validate product usability, define metrics around adoption and efficiency, and ensure that workflows and rules remain performant, compliant, and aligned to business priorities. Process improvement and continuous optimisation sit at the core—you'll be expected to challenge assumptions, spot inefficiencies, and drive solutions that scale.

The ideal candidate has prior experience as a Technical Product Manager or equivalent, ideally in fintech, financial services, or another regulated environment. You should be comfortable reading code, engaging in technical discussions with architects and engineers, and balancing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced setting. Strong analytical skills, stakeholder management ability, and a builder's mindset are essential. This is an in-office role based in Cape Town.
