Description
ABOUT XCEPTOR
Data is at the heart of everything we do: Xceptor has been designed around data manipulation in its broadest sense. We source data from wherever it flows. We curate, normalise, validate, repair, and enrich that data so it reaches its destination in a reliable and consistent format. Data coming out of Xceptor is data our clients can trust.
We are recognised as an expert in the Financial Services vertical, which strongly aligns with Business Users in Middle and Back-Office teams. We enable these users to solve their data challenges by themselves, rather than through a technology-led project.
Our mission - we empower business users within financial institutions to build automated processes that deliver trusted data.
Our values sit at the heart of our business, driving who we are and how we work. At Xceptor, we are:
-
Client Centric; we prioritise our Clients’ experience and needs.

One Team; we actively support one another to achieve our goals.
-
Impactful; we focus, we innovate, we make every minute matter.
🚀 Your Role:
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our post-trade team, owning a defined area of the Xceptor core platform. Our clients - banks, asset managers, and financial services firms - rely on Xceptor to source, curate, and automate the flow of their most critical trade and market data. As this area of the platform sits close to trading and post-trade workflows, we're looking for someone who understands first-hand the pressures, workflows, and data challenges our clients face. As Product Manager, you will define and drive the roadmap for your area, working closely with clients, Sales, Client Delivery, and Engineering to ensure we build the right things, in the right order, for the right reasons. The role will suit someone with a creative and innovative mindset who has the ability and motivation to drive forward their ideas. You’ll want to be part of a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and forward-thinking organisation, with a real opportunity to help shape the future of the Product team and Xceptor as its growth story continues.
🧩 What You’ll Be Doing:
•Owning the product roadmap and strategy for a defined post-trade area of the Xceptor core platform, prioritising features and enhancements based on client value, market opportunity, and commercial impact.
•Gathering and synthesising requirements from clients, partners, and internal stakeholders (Sales, Client Delivery, Support) to define clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
•Designing user research testing (product usability), working with research and product to translate insights into product features and functionality.
•Working closely with Engineering, UX, and QA throughout the product development lifecycle, from discovery and design through to release, ensuring features are delivered on time and to a high standard.
•Defining and tracking success metrics for features and releases, using client feedback and platform data to inform ongoing prioritisation and iteration.
•Communicating product plans, roadmaps, and release updates clearly to internal stakeholders and, where appropriate, directly to clients and partners.
•Representing the voice of the client internally and the voice of Xceptor externally, building strong relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders to inform the product strategy.
🎯 Who we're looking for:
•Experience as a Fintech Product Manager, or similar role.
•Experience working in a fintech, financial services, capital markets, or other regulated environment.
•Knowledge of post-trade (middle and back office) operations in banks is useful but not essential.
•Strong understanding of product management principles and Agile delivery methodologies.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
•Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment.

•Balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
•Demonstrates strong ownership and accountability for outcomes.
•Challenges assumptions and seeks innovative solutions to complex problems.
•Communicates clearly, openly, and effectively across technical and business audiences.
•Thrives in a fast-paced, ambitious, and collaborative environment.

About this role
Xceptor is seeking a Product Manager to own the post-trade area of its core platform—the part that handles the critical trade and market data flows that banks, asset managers, and financial services firms depend on daily. You'd be responsible for defining and driving the roadmap for this defined section, working across clients, Sales, Client Delivery, and Engineering to prioritise features based on client value and commercial impact. This means gathering requirements from stakeholders, designing user research, collaborating throughout the development lifecycle, and tracking success metrics to inform ongoing iteration.
The role calls for someone with fintech product management experience and a background in financial services or regulated environments. While post-trade operations knowledge is useful, what matters more is your ability to understand the pressures and workflows your clients face, balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting, and communicate clearly across technical and business audiences. You should be comfortable reading code, thinking strategically while executing hands-on, and challenging assumptions to find innovative solutions.
You'd be based in Cape Town in the office 2-3 days per week, working alongside a collaborative, forward-thinking team. This is a full-time role where you'll represent the client's voice internally and Xceptor's voice externally, building relationships with key stakeholders while shaping the product's future as the company grows.
