About this role
Red Badger's Cape Town office is looking for a Senior Product Designer who will own the full arc of digital product work—from discovery through to launch—while serving as both a strategic advisor and hands-on practitioner. You'll work embedded in cross-functional teams delivering client outcomes, leading design sessions and workshops, creating prototypes at various fidelities, and championing user-centered approaches throughout the product lifecycle. This is a client-facing role where your ability to build rapport, communicate design decisions to stakeholders, and balance business goals with user needs will be as important as your design craft.
The position demands solid grounding in Lean and Agile methodologies, proficiency with tools like Figma, and demonstrated experience designing responsive and mobile digital products. You should have a track record of leading design activities on projects, running workshops, and working closely with engineers and researchers. Deep knowledge of Human-Centered Design, UX, visual design, and design systems is expected; experience with user research and testing is essential.
Beyond execution, you'll mentor junior designers, help shape Red Badger's design principles and approach, and actively cultivate a culture of design critique within the team. The role suits someone who is pragmatic, detail-oriented, and genuinely invested in both the craft of design and the people side of product development. This is a full-time, in-office position in Cape Town.
