Description
Your Opportunity:
At PLACE, we're building a category-defining company at the intersection of real estate, technology, business services, and the consumer. As a profitable, hypergrowth startup, on the path to an IPO, our standards are high, our team is scrappy, and our commitment is to execute the best work of our lives.
This is YOUR CHANCE to shape the backbone of a company that's scaling rapidly and innovating boldly. As our Senior HR Business Partner, you'll partner with the VP of Human Resources, business unit leaders, and department heads across PLACE's Technology & Services companies to drive organizational planning, talent strategy, and employee relations — while also owning a functional area within our enterprise People Operations Center of Excellence, such as Performance Management & Rewards or Culture & Engagement. If you thrive in complexity, entrepreneurial problem-solving, and believe in scaling through tech and AI, this is your PLACE.
Who Develops You: VP of Human Resources
What You're Great At:
You're a seasoned HR professional with 7+ years of progressive experience, including time spent as an HR Business Partner navigating complex employee relations issues with objectivity and care. You know how to coach leaders through tough conversations and translate business goals into talent strategies that actually move the needle. You've built or governed a CoE-style program before — whether that's performance management, engagement, onboarding, or compliance — and you're comfortable being the go-to expert multiple stakeholders rely on. You're analytical at your core, able to turn data into insights leadership can act on, and you have a solid grasp of employment law that keeps HR practices compliant and risk-aware. You communicate with clarity and build trust easily across all levels of an organization. A PHR, SPHR, or equivalent certification is a strong plus, and familiarity with HRIS and performance management tools (ADP experience a bonus) rounds out your toolkit.
What You'll Do:
- Partner with business unit and department leaders across PLACE Companies supporting the Real Estate Teams ecosystem on all talent-related activities and HR matters
- Guide organizational planning — including org design, headcount and workforce planning, and succession planning
- Help leaders translate business and department goals into talent strategies and initiatives
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues through thorough, objective investigations
- Coach leaders and managers on navigating HR situations and difficult conversations
- Collaborate with Legal on compliance, benefits, and risk mitigation strategies
- Support goal setting, performance review processes, and calibration for assigned business units
- Partner with the VP of HR to develop and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Lead or assist special projects that strengthen talent initiatives and HR infrastructure
- Partner with the broader People Operations team on onboarding, compensation, training, benefits, and employee services
- Own a Center of Excellence functional area (e.g., Performance Management & Rewards or Culture & Engagement) — building manager toolkits, driving enterprise-wide programs, and reporting on effectiveness to HR leadership
- Ensure consistent adherence to HR policies and procedures across assigned business units
Salary: $100,000-$120,000/year depending on experience
