Our team is seeking a talented Applications/DevOps Engineer!
As a core member of the development team, you’ll help innovate, optimize, and transform the digital landscape with your technical prowess. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of software development and mission support in a fast-paced environment.
Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with Polygraph
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management & IaC: Provision, manage, and optimize AWS resources (including EC2, S3, and RDS) using CloudFormation to ensure scalable, reproducible, and secure infrastructure environments.
- CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins and Groovy; drive the development and maintenance of shared Jenkins libraries to standardize and accelerate deployment processes.
- Automation & Tool Development: Develop and implement automation tools and scripts using Object-Oriented languages (Ruby, Python, or NodeJS) to streamline infrastructure tasks and facilitate effective integration with the AWS SDK.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Architect and manage containerized applications using Docker, while implementing scalable orchestration strategies via ECS or Docker Compose.
- Configuration Management: Utilize Puppet to manage and automate software installations, ensuring consistency across environments.
- Architectural Guidance: Partner closely with software development teams to provide technical guidance on AWS architectural best practices, ensuring teams utilize cloud resources efficiently and correctly.
- Hybrid System Administration: Serve as a bridge between software engineering and systems administration, supporting the stability of customer Operating Systems and contributing to the overall reliability of the infrastructure.
- Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative team environment by acting as a proactive, helpful resource, actively learning new technologies, and providing mentorship to peers when required.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of AWS experience. This includes building AWS resources using Cloud formation and interacting with them as well using AWS SDKs such as Ruby, Python, and Java.
- 5 or more years of Object Oriented Programming background: Ruby, Python, Java, or NodeJS.
- Experience with Jenkins and creating Jenkins Pipelines while having and understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience with Docker and some type of container orchestration tool, Docker Compose, ECS.
- 5 years of Bash shell scripting experience.
- At least 2 years experience with GitHub and any branching strategy.
- Team player and work well with others regardless of skill levels. This characteristic is key because there are a lot of teams that will need DevOps support and along with that will be a wide range of skill levels.
