About the Position 

Groome Industrial Service Group is seeking a General Laborer who will perform various general manual labor tasks.

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial surface preparation and coating applications
  • Proven experience with abrasive blasting, hand tool cleaning, power-tool cleaning, pressure washing, and other industrial surface preparation methods
  • Experience applying industrial coatings using brush, roller, and airless spray equipment
  • Ability to read and understand coating specifications, product data sheets, and jobsite requirements
  • Ability to work safely at heights and around moving industrial equipment
  • Strong understanding of proper surface preparation, coating application, dry film thickness, recoat windows, and general industrial painting practices
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
  • Must be able to obtain required credentials for access to the Port of Miami

  What does it take to work for Groome Industrial Service Group? 

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, night shifts, and overtime if required.
  • Must have acceptable ID, pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Possession of a TWIC card is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Must understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must have basic math skills. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 lbs. on occasion. 
  • Able to withstand 70 psi of back pressure.
  • May reach above shoulder height and below the waist frequently. 
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on occasion.  
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas. 
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects frequently.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
