About this role
Working as an FP&A Consultant at AMEND means diving into real financial and operational challenges across diverse clients, then architecting solutions that drive measurable business impact. You'll build sophisticated financial models—from three-statement analyses to valuation work—and translate those models into clear narratives that help executives make better decisions. Beyond modeling, you'll evaluate how clients' finance and accounting processes actually work, spot inefficiencies in everything from month-end close to AR/AP, and recommend or implement improvements, often involving automation and system upgrades.
This role demands someone who thinks beyond traditional accounting. You'll need strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders, but equally important is curiosity and creativity—the willingness to challenge how things are done and propose unconventional solutions. The work varies significantly: one week you might be designing a cost model for product pricing, the next developing training materials for process changes or leading a project through its phases. You'll travel up to four days weekly to client sites.
AMEND is a Cincinnati-based management consulting firm focused on operations, analytics, and technology. They emphasize growth and development, offer competitive compensation with travel incentives, and provide standard benefits plus paid parental leave and a 3:1 charity match. A finance or accounting degree is preferred but not required; they're more interested in problem-solving ability and genuine interest in learning than a perfect credential match.
