Description
Organisation
Anthos Fund & Asset Management is a values-based asset manager that stewards capital for professional investors who want to create a bigger impact together. We do this by responsibly managing capital in line with the values of sustainability, human dignity and good corporate citizenship.
Founded nearly 100 years ago to manage the assets of the Brenninkmeijer family, Anthos today also welcomes like-minded investors. We provide investment management and advisory services across public and private markets, including equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity and alternative investments.
Anthos is part of COFRA, a sixth-generation family-owned group of investment platforms and businesses active in asset management, private equity, real estate, retail, clean energy and sustainable food. Across all its activities, COFRA is guided by a shared ambition: to be a force for good in society and the environment.
The role
As Compliance Manager, you will play a visible role in maintaining and further developing Anthos’ risk-based compliance framework in a regulated fund and asset management environment. You will act as a senior compliance partner to management, exercising independent judgement on complex regulatory matters and taking ownership of significant elements of the compliance function, such as translating regulatory requirements into practical guidance, proportionate controls and continuous improvements.
The role offers exposure to a broad regulatory agenda, including Wft, AIFMD, MiFID, integrity risk, governance, monitoring, regulatory change and compliance reporting. You will support the identification, monitoring and mitigation of compliance risks and contribute to a strong culture of integrity and compliance awareness across the organisation.
You will be part of the Anthos Compliance team, which provides regulatory and compliance support across the organisation. The Compliance Manager reports to the Head of Compliance and works closely with colleagues from the business, legal, internal audit, risk management and other compliance functions within the wider organisation.
Additionally, you:
- Lead and coordinate compliance risk assessments and contribute to the organisation-wide SIRA, ensuring compliance risks are appropriately identified, challenged, assessed and mitigated.
- Prepare compliance reporting, risk assessments and recommendations to senior management and governance bodies.
- Act as a trusted senior compliance advisor to the business and senior stakeholders, balancing regulatory requirements with pragmatic and risk-based solutions.
- Identify regulatory developments, assess their impact for Anthos and monitor the implementation of relevant changes across the organisation.
- Further strengthen and maintain the compliance framework, including policies, procedures, controls, monitoring and reporting.
- Own the design, development and execution of the compliance monitoring and testing programme, determining priorities, assessing effectiveness and reporting outcomes to senior management and governance bodies.
- Support the assessment and coordination of compliance incidents, breaches and regulatory enquiries, providing recommendations to management and overseeing remediation efforts.
- Promote compliance awareness through targeted guidance, training and constructive challenge.
- Coordinate and contribute to regulatory interactions, enquiries, information requests and thematic reviews, working directly with internal stakeholders and external parties as required.
- Take ownership of compliance topics, shape improvements and contribute directly to the maturity of the compliance framework.
What you bring
We are looking for someone with strong compliance expertise, sound judgement and the ability to translate regulation into practical action. You combine regulatory knowledge with organisational sensitivity and can build trusted relationships while providing constructive challenge.
You also bring:
- 8+ years of relevant working experience in compliance, preferably within investment management or another regulated financial institution, including experience independently managing complex compliance matters and advising senior stakeholders.
- A strong knowledge of Dutch and European financial regulation relevant to asset management including Wft, AIFMD and MiFID and related regulatory requirements.
- Experience with regulatory change management, SIRA/compliance risk assessments, compliance monitoring and management reporting.
- The ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance and proportionate controls.
- Organisational sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in a demanding environment, both internally and externally, within a complex and rapidly changing organisation.
- Fluency in Dutch and English
You'll enjoy this role if
You enjoy working in a values-based, family-owned organisation with a strong sense of integrity and professionalism. You are comfortable in a dynamic environment, enjoy working independently and bring a pragmatic, hands-on mindset to a small expert team. You will also appreciate this role if you like combining regulatory substance with practical implementation, constructive challenge and close collaboration with senior stakeholders.
What we offer
- A highly visible role with real ownership and responsibility in a complex regulated environment.

About this role
Anthos Fund & Asset Management seeks an experienced compliance professional to strengthen its regulatory framework across fund and asset management operations. As Compliance Manager, you'll own significant compliance responsibilities—from translating Dutch and European financial regulations (Wft, AIFMD, MiFID) into practical controls, to leading compliance risk assessments, designing monitoring programmes, and advising senior management on complex regulatory matters. This is a senior role requiring independent judgement and direct engagement with both internal stakeholders and external regulators.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of compliance experience in investment management or regulated finance, with demonstrated expertise in regulatory change management, compliance risk assessment and reporting. You'll need strong knowledge of Dutch and European financial regulation, fluency in both Dutch and English, and the ability to translate complex requirements into proportionate, risk-based solutions. Success here depends on organisational sensitivity, the capacity to work independently within a small expert team, and comfort balancing regulatory rigour with pragmatic implementation.
You'll find this role rewarding if you value working in a values-driven, family-owned organisation where integrity is central, and if you thrive on combining regulatory substance with hands-on problem-solving. The position is based in Amsterdam on a full-time, in-office basis, and comes with 31 days annual leave, flexible working arrangements and volunteering opportunities.
