About this role

At Rocket Lab's Mahia launch site in New Zealand, this role puts you at the center of one of the world's highest-tempo launch operations. As Launch Technician - Electrical, you'll support all electrical systems critical to getting Electron rockets to the pad, working alongside a close team of technicians and engineers to build, test, and maintain the infrastructure that enables LC-1's ambitious launch cadence. This is hands-on work under real pressure and tight deadlines, where your troubleshooting and attention to detail directly impact mission success.

You'll need a current, unrestricted NZ electrical license and strong fundamentals in reading schematics, understanding basic programming, and diagnosing electrical problems. Beyond technical competence, the role demands someone who thrives under pressure, communicates clearly, takes initiative, and is genuinely willing to step outside their immediate skill set to help the team. Experience with instrumentation, control systems, generators, UPS systems, or fluid systems is valuable but not required—Rocket Lab will provide training where needed.

Relocation to Mahia is mandatory for this position. Due to U.S. export regulations (ITAR), you must hold citizenship of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the EU, or a NATO country, with no ineligible dual citizenship. Background checks will be conducted before any offer is made.
