What is the Bus Monitor Role at Brooke East Boston?
- Arrive on time at the first pick-up stop in the morning and arrive at Brooke East Boston at dismissal.
- This is a part-time role: hours are 6:00-7:15 am and 4:00-5:30 pm
- Direct children to pick-up and drop-off locations and ensure the safety of each child
- Check the roster and maintain attendance for all students
- Ability to stay calm during an emergency
- Resolve routine communication problems or incident reports with families, students, and school officials
- Demonstrate team work with bus driver daily
Compensation
Compensation is $20/hour with an additional monthly stipend of $300.

About this role
Brooke Charter Schools is seeking a Bus Monitor for its East Boston location to supervise student transportation during morning and afternoon routes. The role requires you to arrive early for the 6:00–7:15 am pickup and stay through the 4:00–5:30 pm dismissal window, directing students safely to and from the bus, tracking attendance, and maintaining communication with families and school staff about any incidents or concerns. You'll work closely with the bus driver each day and need to remain composed and responsive in routine situations and emergencies alike.
