Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to join our Pharmacy Utilization Management team.

About the role:
The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor leads the daily operations of the prior authorization technician team, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant case processing. Serving as a frontline leader and subject matter expert, this role will mentor staff, optimize operational workflows, and resolve operational escalations. The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor will foster a supportive, growth-oriented environment while driving quality, regulatory compliance, and overall team performance.
You will report into the Manager, Pharmacy Utilization Management.
Work Location: This is a remote position, open to candidates who reside in: Alabama; Arizona; Arkansas; Colorado; Connecticut; District of Columbia; Florida; Georgia; Idaho; Illinois; Indiana; Iowa; Kansas; Kentucky; Maine; Maryland; Massachusetts; Michigan; Minnesota; Missouri; Nevada; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New Mexico; North Carolina; Ohio; Oregon; Pennsylvania; Rhode Island; South Carolina; Tennessee; Texas; Utah; Vermont; or Virginia. While your daily work will be completed from your home office, occasional travel may be required for team meetings and company events.
Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $56,304.00 - $73,899.00 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $50,673.60 - $66,509.10 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily technician workflows, queue monitoring, and task assignments to ensure prior authorization requests are processed accurately.
- Monitor productivity and quality metrics, providing regular 1-on-1 coaching, performance reviews, and cross-training to support skill growth and prepare the team for market expansion.
- Be the resource for complex intake issues, escalated provider inquiries, and system glitches.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements, and resolve daily challenges to keep the team operating.
- Partner with cross-functional leadership to develop, update, and organize job aids and team training resources.
- Participate in a rotated weekend and holiday on-call schedule to monitor queues and offer team support when needed.
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years of work experience in a pharmacy related field
- 2+ years of performing pharmacy reviews for a managed care plan or pharmacy benefits manager.
- 1+ years of people or project management experience.

- Experience managing a team of pharmacy technicians performing utilization management operations
- Experience developing and managing key performance indicators/metrics for an operational team
- Acute attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills
