About this role

Shimizu North America's Atlanta office is seeking an experienced architect to lead pre-construction planning and design coordination for its project portfolio. You would manage consultant teams (architects and engineers), oversee design deliverables from concept through bid preparation, and handle the full range of design activities—from information gathering and schedule coordination to directing Revit/AutoCAD work and planning presentations. A significant part of the role involves translating documents and consulting with Japanese-speaking clients, making bilingual capability a key asset for this position.

The role requires a strong foundation in architectural principles, building materials, construction methods, and code compliance, along with hands-on proficiency in BIM and CAD. You'll need 7–10 years of architectural experience and a bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field; a master's degree is preferred. This is a full-time, in-office position in Atlanta and suits someone who is comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and design phases simultaneously while bridging communication between international clients and local teams.
