This role is eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus, subject to the terms and conditions of the Company's sign-on bonus program.

Your Responsibilities as a Hydraulics Manager:
- Serve as the Hydraulics Engineering Manager and discipline lead for Forsgren’s Hydraulics Practice, providing technical and operational leadership for the hydraulics team.
- Lead, mentor, and develop hydraulic engineering staff, including setting goals, providing performance feedback, supporting career development, and identifying training opportunities.
- Manage team workload and resource allocation, balancing project demands, staff capacity, schedules, and priorities across multiple projects.
- Build and grow the hydraulics practice by identifying opportunities, supporting proposals and pursuits, and strengthening relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Provide oversight of technical quality, project delivery, and adherence to company standards and industry best practices.
- Partner with office and company leadership on staffing needs, strategic growth initiatives, forecasting, and development of the hydraulics practice.
- Manage projects including scope, schedule, budget coordination, project delivery, and client relations.
- Provide technical leadership on 1D and 2D hydraulic and surface water modeling for bridge openings, culverts, and floodplains; bridge scour evaluation and mitigation design; floodplain analysis and permitting; drainage, gravity, and irrigation system modeling and design; and stormwater management analysis considering control of water quantity and quality.
- Coordinate with design teams, environmental staff, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to support project design, permitting, and delivery.
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor to project teams across Forsgren, supporting staff on complex hydraulic and hydrologic challenges.
- Represent Forsgren with clients and at industry events, helping strengthen the company’s reputation and expand its presence in the hydraulics market.
What we're looking for:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Idaho (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- 10+ years of Civil Engineering experience with a focus in hydraulic modeling and design
- A strong understanding of hydraulics and hydrology in engineering design, including runoff calculations, open-channel hydraulics including application to bridge hydraulic and scour analysis, culvert design, and detention structure/BMP design principles
- Experience in hydraulic modeling using 1D/2D HEC-RAS and SMS SRH-2D
- Familiarity with HEC-18, HEC-20, and HEC-23
- Experience in HY-8
- Experience with FEMA floodplain management, modeling, and permitting (LOMR/CLOMR)
- Experience with Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP) desirable
