About the Team
RSC(Rubrik Security Cloud) is the SaaS control plane for Rubrik. Our mission is to build a highly scalable and reliable cloud data management platform for the largest enterprises in the world. We build fundamental infrastructure components that all other RSC product teams at Rubrik build upon, including our microservices architecture, Kubernetes deployment system, distributed job workflow engine, and database instances(Mysql). The database team at Rubrik plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the Rubrik Security Cloud (RSC) platform. They are responsible for managing all metadata required to operate RSC, supporting a multi-tenant architecture that serves a diverse and growing set of customers and internal product teams.
What you’ll do
- Build and drive the product component roadmap
- Provide leadership to projects from inception to implementation
- Champion an atmosphere of continuous improvement with a metrics driven culture
- Provide support and guidance that enables the team to self-organize and to achieve sustained high velocity and predictability
- Help employees grow through career development, coaching, and mentoring while guiding senior contributors to maximize their potential
- Foster a strong collaborative mindset working closely with peers in Product Management, Architects, and Program Management to bring diverse viewpoints and goals together
- Bring a zeal for solving customer problems, work closely with Support and cascade the same passion within your team
Experience you’ll need
- A passionate leader who is obsessed with building technically strong teams and has 10+ years of Software Development experience and 1-2 years in Engineering Management role
- Experience in delivering enterprise-quality scalable Distributed Systems with high quality standards and supporting a large base of customers
- Software development experience on Cloud/SaaS and on-premises platform environments
- Experience building and cultivating strong engineering practices and processes
- Experience working with cross-geo global engineering teams
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
- Having worked with Database, Various cloud providers is highly desirable.

About this role
Leading the database infrastructure layer for Rubrik Security Cloud means owning both the technical direction and the people who build it. You'll manage the team responsible for all metadata operations across a multi-tenant SaaS platform serving enterprise customers, setting the product roadmap and driving projects from conception through delivery. This role requires balancing hands-on technical judgment—particularly around distributed systems, cloud and on-premises environments, and database architecture—with the people leadership needed to build a high-performing, self-organizing team.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of software development experience with 1-2 years already in an engineering management capacity. You should have a track record delivering enterprise-grade distributed systems at scale, familiarity with both cloud and on-premises deployments, and the ability to establish strong engineering practices across geographically distributed teams. A Computer Science degree is expected; prior experience with databases and multiple cloud providers is valued. Beyond technical credibility, you'll need genuine passion for solving customer problems and the coaching ability to develop senior engineers while fostering continuous improvement through metrics and data.
Based in Bengaluru and working in-office full-time, you'll collaborate closely with Product Management, Architecture, and Program Management to align diverse priorities. This is a foundational infrastructure role at a company building core platform layers that other teams depend on—the scope is significant and the technical bar is high.
