About this role

Working on Olsson's Power Delivery team this summer means diving into real substation and power generation projects from day one. You'll move beyond textbooks into hands-on CAD design, learning how medium, high, and extra-high voltage systems are physically arranged and protected. The work spans substation structure and foundation design, equipment mounting, steel analysis, and interpreting geotechnical data—giving you concrete experience in the technical depth of power infrastructure.

This internship suits civil or mechanical engineering students who are comfortable with AutoCAD or Revit, strong in Excel and Word, and genuinely interested in collaborative problem-solving. You'll need solid math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of your contributions. Olsson emphasizes a people-centric culture where interns are expected to grow meaningfully during their time here, not just observe.

The position is based in Fayetteville, Arkansas and in-office. As an intern you won't receive the full benefits package that full-time employees get, though Olsson does offer competitive 401(k) matching and wellness programs to all staff, and the company has supported flexible work arrangements where possible.
