About this role

Olsson's water and wastewater engineering internship offers hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle—from design and permitting through construction. You'll use CAD and modeling software to develop project designs, perform technical analysis, prepare construction documents, and write reports while working on real infrastructure like sewer systems, pump stations, water treatment facilities, and storage tanks. This is collaborative work embedded within a team of engineers, giving you direct exposure to how water and wastewater systems actually get built.

The role suits civil, environmental, or related engineering students who are comfortable with AutoCAD, proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office, and genuinely interested in solving problems that affect communities. You'll need strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of meaningful work. Olsson has openings across three Nebraska locations—Kearney, Lincoln, and Omaha—so you can choose based on your preference.

Beyond the internship itself, Olsson emphasizes growth and development, offering a 401(k) match, wellness programs, and the chance to build your career within a firm that's been focused on engineering solutions since 1956. The work is in-office and seasonal for summer 2027.
