Experienced Commercial Door Technician

Full-Time • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM • Field Position, Dispatched from Home.

About the Role

RCI Doors is seeking a reliable, experienced Commercial Door & Dock Service Technician to service customers throughout the area. This is a remote field position dispatched from home, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining commercial and industrial doors and dock equipment.

We install, service, and repair a wide range of equipment — from overhead sectional and rolling steel doors to loading docks, hollow metal doors, glass storefronts, gates, and access control systems. No two days are the same!

We’ll provide you with a company service truck, hand and power tools, uniforms, and a supportive team that values safety, skill, and reliability.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Installing, servicing, and repairing commercial and industrial doors and dock equipment
  • Completing fire door and automatic door inspections in accordance with safety and compliance standards
  • Performing preventative maintenance to ensure proper door and equipment operation
  • Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and access control systems
  • Reading blueprints and following installation specifications
  • Working in commercial, industrial, and institutional settings including warehouses, manufacturing facilities, retail spaces, and office buildings
  • Using mobile dispatch software to manage job details, service calls, and customer updates
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and company vehicles in top condition
  • Following all safety procedures on every job

Experience with storefront systems, hollow metal doors, or automatic pedestrian doors is a major plus!

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of experience in the door, construction, or a related industry
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working from ladders, lifts, and at various job sites
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Dependable, customer-focused, and professional
  • Basic computer/iPad skills and comfort using mobile apps
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must pass a background check, drug screen, and physical
