About this role
Hillendale Home Care is seeking caregivers to provide in-home support to seniors across the Walnut Creek area and surrounding communities. In this role, you'll handle personal care and daily living assistance, mobility support, medication reminders, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship—essentially helping clients maintain independence and dignity in their own homes. You'll work directly with older adults, often building ongoing relationships with the people you serve.
The position offers genuine flexibility: you can choose from 4-, 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts across day, evening, overnight, and live-in schedules, with weekday and weekend options available. Pay ranges from $19 to $23 per hour depending on the level of care you provide, plus paid holidays, sick leave, health benefits, 401(k) eligibility, and paid training. Hillendale emphasizes real support from staffing and care managers, and they actively encourage bilingual caregivers—Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Farsi, and Tagalog speakers often find additional client opportunities.
To qualify, you'll need HCSB registration (which Hillendale can guide you through), a current TB test, and solid English communication skills. If you hold a CNA or HHA credential or have prior caregiving experience, that's valued. The company has been recognized as a Great Place to Work and has won regional awards for home health services. They hire quickly—qualified candidates often start within one to two days.
