About the Role
Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologist to help shape the future of imaging within one of the nation's largest community-based oncology practices. In this role, you will work closely with oncologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary care teams to provide timely, high-quality diagnostic interpretations that directly impact patient care. The position is focused solely on outpatient imaging, allowing physicians to concentrate on delivering consistent, specialized support for cancer patients while collaborating within an integrated oncology environment. This opportunity is ideal for a radiologist who values innovation, teamwork, and the ability to play a meaningful role in advancing patient-centered cancer care.
Beyond the day-to-day practice, this role offers the chance to be part of a rapidly expanding imaging platform that currently supports nine imaging centers and substantial annual imaging volumes across CT, PET, and MRI services. Tennessee Oncology is committed to investing in technology, workflow optimization, and emerging AI solutions to support efficiency and diagnostic excellence. The organization recognizes the value of physician flexibility and supports certain outside professional activities when aligned with practice responsibilities, creating an environment that balances professional growth with long-term career sustainability. For radiologists interested in helping build and influence a growing, oncology-focused imaging program, this represents a unique opportunity to contribute to both clinical care and strategic development within a highly collaborative organization.

About this role
Tennessee Oncology, part of the OneOncology network, is building out its diagnostic imaging program and seeking a radiologist to lead that effort in Johnson City. You would work exclusively in an outpatient setting, interpreting imaging across CT, PET, and MRI while collaborating directly with oncologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary care teams. The role centers on delivering timely, high-quality diagnostic support that shapes treatment decisions for cancer patients—meaningful work within an integrated oncology environment rather than a traditional radiology department.
The practice operates nine imaging centers with substantial annual volume and is actively investing in technology, workflow optimization, and AI solutions. You'd have input into how this imaging platform evolves while maintaining focus on clinical excellence. The organization explicitly supports physician flexibility for outside professional activities aligned with practice responsibilities, and offers a partnership track, CME reimbursement, and access to clinical trials and research opportunities. Compensation is uncapped, with comprehensive benefits and paid time off included.
Both experienced radiologists and residents are encouraged to apply. The position is full-time and in-office in Johnson City, a growing healthcare hub in Northeast Tennessee with an affordable cost of living, outdoor recreation access, and a collaborative community feel.
