About this role
HelloFresh's Buyer role in Auckland puts you at the heart of their New Zealand supply chain, managing fresh produce and perishable ingredients for their meal kit operations. Based in Penrose and reporting to the Procurement Manager, you'll own the full lifecycle of ingredient availability—from demand forecasting and purchase order execution to supplier performance management and inventory optimization. This is a hands-on position that requires constant problem-solving: you'll investigate supply disruptions, lead supplier reviews, resolve invoice discrepancies, and act as the operational expert when production issues arise.
The role demands someone with prior procurement, operations, or supply chain experience who thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment. You'll need strong Excel skills, excellent communication, and the ability to navigate relationships across multiple internal teams (Production, Menu Planning, Logistics, Warehouse) and external suppliers simultaneously. A proactive mindset and genuine passion for food or operations excellence are essential—this isn't a desk-bound job, as you'll regularly visit production sites and collaborate directly with teams to drive continuous improvement.
